Installation (658 keys, and wooden box)
The dwellers of Galata who change and are forced to change constantly... The bare keys left behind all this “toing and froing”…
Each handover bears the new and old keys of the same house and they “pile” rather than “gather”.
And we cannot tell which one unlocks which door or locks whose history.
What about the ones in our pockets? The ones that are piling up in our drawers day by day…
Once, each house had a single key and it was always in the door. So said the elderly…
Then, could there be a single “Key” that opens all the doors?
